We all scream for ICE CREAM!

While making your own ice cream is certainly more work than buying it at Coney’s Cones, it’s a lot of fun to make and lets you experiment with your own flavor combinations! Below are three traditional recipes that you can make right at home. Always remember, the better the ingredients, the better the flavor! Yummy! Bet you can’t wait to taste it!

Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients
1 cup sugar (less if you prefer your ice cream less sweet)
16 ounces half & half
16 ounces heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract recommended)

    Directions

  1. In a large bowl, fully dissolve sugar in half & half.
  2. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
  3. Transfer to ice cream machine and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. For best taste, freeze finished product overnight in your home freezer.

Chocolate Ice Cream

Ingredients
1 ½ cup sugar (less if you prefer your ice cream less sweet)
16 ounces half & half
16 ounces heavy whipping cream
6 ounces unsweetened cocoa (Ghirardelli recommended)
¼ teaspoon instant coffee (optional)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract recommended)

    Directions

  1. In a double boiler, fully dissolve sugar and instant coffee in half & half, then add cocoa slowly, mixing well until smooth. Do NOT allow to boil at any time!
  2. Thoroughly cool mixture in refrigerator (two to four hours).
  3. Into cooled mixture stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
  4. Transfer to ice cream machine and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. For best taste, freeze finished product overnight in your home freezer.

Strawberry Ice Cream

Ingredients
1 pound fresh or frozen strawberries
1 cup sugar (less if you prefer your ice cream less sweet)
16 ounces half & half
16 ounces heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoon vanilla extract (Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract recommended)

    Directions

  1. Puree strawberries.
  2. In large bowl, mix sugar and pureed strawberries and let sit overnight in refrigerator.
  3. The next day, add half & half into strawberry puree and sugar mixture and stir until sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
  5. Transfer to ice cream machine and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. For best taste, freeze finished product overnight in your home freezer.
